The adjuster tabs for the dash and side vents on the W164 ML and GL.
These break at the same place on every car: the thin stem where the tab meets the louvre vane. It is a small enough part that a vendor market has grown around supplying replacements, which is usually a reliable indicator that the factory answer is unsatisfactory.
Worth distinguishing from the actuator gear listed separately here. That one is a motor fault causing air to leave the wrong vents. This is purely mechanical — the airflow is correct, you simply cannot aim it.
Fitment: ML and GL (W164), 2006–2012. Dash and side vents use different tabs, and the centre pair differ again. Tell us which vents you are fixing and how many tabs you need — on a car this age it is rarely just one.
