Climate control knobs for the S2000. The failure here is not breakage but the soft-touch coating, which degrades into a tacky film that transfers onto your fingers and cannot be cleaned off — only stripped, taking the finish with it.
This affects a great many cars of the era. Manufacturers went through a phase of rubberised coatings on interior controls, and the polyurethane in them hydrolyses over twenty years. Honda applied it to the S2000’s HVAC knobs, and there is no version of the original part that has not started doing this.
Printed in solid material with no coating, so the failure mode does not recur.
Fitment: S2000 AP1 and AP2, 1999–2009. The AP2 revised the climate panel in 2004; knob shafts are common across both but the face detailing differs, so specify which you have.
